Whether your magistrates are on a 6-year, 10-year, or other term cycle, keeping your courts and magistrates up-to-date is a breeze in In-Synch RMS. Magistrate information is entered through the Person Management module, whereas Court information is entered through Organization Management. These Courts and Magistrates populate the various pick lists for Traffic citations, Non-Traffic citations, and the Criminal Complaint form (PA).

Let's look at a couple of quick examples of adding courts and magistrates:

Adding Magisterial Information to a Person Record

With the person record open, select "MAGISTERIAL" from the "Custom Field Type" drop-down list on the "Numbers/Custom Fields" tab.

Enter a magisterial number into the "Value" field (A), select the "Add" button (B), and then save the record.

Adding Magisterial Information to an Organization Record

With the organization record open, select "MAGISTERIAL" from the "Number Type" drop-down list on the "Numbers" tab.

Tips:

When adding a Magistrate or Court, make sure any addresses or phone numbers have the role of "BUSINESS."

It's just that easy! Next time an election cycle approaches (or a vacancy is filled), personnel can enter (or update) your department's court and magistrate information with just a few steps.
